The roller (18) consists of a number of coaxial discs whose combined axial length is the same or greater than the inner distance between the tractors rear wheels. The rollers are fitted to a bracket carried by the front cross bearer (8) of the tractor and connected to the tractor steering mechanism (19). The bracket is lowered to the ground by hydraulic power (21) and adjusted so that the tractor wheels are clear of the earth to avoid leaving tracks. The distance from the roller to the rear wheels can also be adjusted. The front roller could also be connected to the propulsion unit.
