A wet scrubber has centuri scrubbing devices which discharge into a deflection separator in the form of a curved pipe having splitter-slots on its radially outermost surface. The slots communicate with a chamber for collection of the water/dust slurry. Sepn. devices for water mist are placed downstreams of the deflection separator and are connected over their entire surface with an exhaust fan or waste gas stack without using guide vanes. The deflection separator has a low press. drop.
