The system is designed for simplified assembly of standardised building components into a structure, which may also be quickly dismantled again if necessary. One component (10) has an aperture on one of its sides, and another component (12) has a number of grooves (18) extending along its exterior. There is a coupling device (22) with two claws (26), projecting from the aperture into the grooves when the components are brought together for assembly. The claws can be moved by fixture media (30) into a position for engaging the grooves, and the coupling connected to one of the components for assembly. The claws may have a sloping surface acting together with a groove surface, to draw the coupling and two components together.
