Gas turbine and stirling engine combination - with stirling motor external combustion is replaced by thermal exchange with gas turbine combustion gas

The stirling engine heater section is built into the turbine gas flow between the combustion chamber and the first gas turbine stage. The turbine effective output is unaffected from this arrangement apart from a slight flow loss in the stirling motor heater part. The advantage gained is that the stirling engine no longer produces an exhaust and its working efficiency is increased. The constructional expense of a conventional heat recoupator is avoided and the combined working efficiency is further increased when the gas turbine combustion air is preheated from hitherto existing industrial exhaust heat waste.
