Hop drying kiln attachment - with roller linkage and scraper loosening blades to suit square kiln rack sections

An attachment for a hop drying kiln has above the first rack, on which the green hops are charged, a spider with a vertical driven spindle. The spindle carries two radial arms which are fitted with pusher blades and/or loosening tools to distribute the hops evenly in a uniform layer thickness over the whole rack area. Rollers witha linkage ensure that all parts of a square surface are covered. Conventional mechanical attachments cover only circular sections and kilns of aquare section have to be dealt with by manula labour. Working in the hot moist atmosphere is very unpleasant and the new attachment improves these working conditions.
