The children's playground style slide is intended to run down the slope of an Alpine valley (perhaps 1,000m) and is more robust than asbestos-cement, pylon-supported examples. The constructional member consists of a metal trough (1) supported on a concrete base (3) with the metal edges bent downwards over the sides of the concrete (2). The concrete base rests not necessarily continuously, on the ground, to which it is fastened by spikes (6) passing through ring-bolts (5) fixed in the concrete. The sections overlap, with screws holding the metal at the joints. Some of the joints can be oblique, so that a curved slide is built up.
