The vibration is used to move grain along a conveyor and is induced by two pairs of unbalanced rotors, one at each end of a common axle. The amount of the vibration is set by adjusting the angle between the two rotors of a pair. They are then kept from relative movement by the pressure exerted on friction washers by a metal ring at the end of the axle. A plate braces the metal ring against the end of the axle under the action of a locking lever eccentrically mounted in forks bearing on the axle, and so holds the unbalanced rotors fast to each other and to the axle.
