Emphasising natural structure of wood - by conversion of cellulose in soft parts to oxycellulose or hydrocellulose by chemical treatment and removal by brushing

The natural structure of wood articles, with as profiles or sheets, is made more prominent by treating the surface with an agent which converts the cellulose to oxycellulose and possibly hydrocellulose, and lowers the mechanical strength of the cellulose chain, followed by mechanical removal of the more strongly attacked soft parts of the annual rings of the tree. Rough mechanical treatment is not needed. The wood surface is not darkened. A relatively deep effect on the wood surface can be achieved. The hard parts of the annual rings are not attacked.
