Multichannel direction finding uses a process of determining the incident sector or direction of one or more arbitrary modulated electromagnetic waves from amplitude or phase difference of measuring voltages derived from preferably directed antennae. To derive such amplitude and phase difference relationships the respective voltage measurements for a sender are multiplied with a reference voltage originating from the sender, or squared, being multiplied with each of the other voltage measurements. The multiplication is in one case direct, in another after preliminary phase displacement imposed on the multiplying voltage. There may be, in another mode, combination of the voltages to a summation or difference value, likewise direct and after preliminary imposed phase displacement.
