Pneumatic brakes with anti blocking control - has pneumatic spring loaded valve for rapid reapplication of brakes

The pneumatic brakes, for trains or similar heavy vehicles, have their brake pressure modulated w.r.t. the output of an antiblocking control. The control valve between the system and the air pressure reservoir is provided by a spring loaded piston between two pressure levels. The piston operates purely pneumatically to provide a rapid re-application of the brakes after venting, without requiring a separate electric supply for an electro-magnetic valve. This is achieved by a spring piston arrangement which carries a second smaller spring piston which moves to inlet air at a lower pressure.
