Double-skinned concrete wall slabs joint heat insulation - using profiled insulating bar in space left by shaped insulating mats

Provision for heat insulation of joint gaps formed between abutting double-skinned concrete bilding slabs, on a wall, involves a heat insulating mat or mesh fitting against the inside of one of the concrete shells. The borders of the insulating mats (4, 7) adjacent to the joint gap concerned (8) are shaped in such a way that a continuous accommodating space is provided along the line of the joint, the outline of this is wider on the outside than on the inside. A bar (9) made of thermally insulating material, and pref. T-sectioned, with outline corresponding to the shape of the space, is inserted into it. This can be done at the production stage or on site, pref. before the introduction of new concrete between the shells.
