Oxaprostaglandins of formula (I): (where B is 1-10C alkyl; D is 1-10C alkylene; and E is H or 1-4C alkyl), e.g. (15R)-11-deoxy-11-oxa-prostaglandin F2alpha and (15S)-15-methyl-li-deoxy-11-oxa-prostaglandin F2alpha are new cpds. (I) are relatively simple to produce in sterically uniform form, and their biological activity is comparable with that of the corresponding natural prostaglandins.
