The ladder stabilising device prevents its falling down and has supports connected to the ends of the ladder by cardanic hinges (1). The supports are braced against each other by connecting rods (2), which are mounted so as to be able to swivel, from the hinge on the left support to the sliding shoe (3), which can be fixed in place on the right support, and vice versa, with both triangles having the plane of the ladder as a common base. One connecting rod can be applied from inside and the other one from outside, allowing the supports to prevent a skewed plane. The setting and fixing mechanism (4) may have a cabledrum head, for operation by pulling on the cable from the ground.
