A keyboard which can be composed from different kdys capable of being assembled together, using a substructure which holds the keys, and a connecting plate working in conjunction with the shafts of the keys for connection of electrical current circuits. The keys (1) can be fitted from above into this substructure (8) via a snap connection, and at a given distance from each other. A distance retainer provided with a snap connection, ensures that the substructure of the keys (1) and the connecting plate are maintained at a pre-determined distance from each other. The substructure comprises U-shaped formations, which, in their bases, have apertures to accommodate the key (1) via their snap projections (6d).
