The gyrator capacitor filter has its signal to noise ratio improved over that of the filter given in the main patent in either of one of two ways. One is by connecting the sub-fourpole with the largest voltage increase between two transformers that are included in the gyrators of neighbouring sub-fourpoles. Alternatively it may be by choosing the gyration constants such that for each gyrator the dependent voltage increases are equal to or less than the corresponding independent voltage increases. In the main patent the sub-networks contain the series combination of series capacitors and shunt capacitors.
