A rotating reel for an agricultural harvesting machine, in particular a self running mowing thresher having a conducting device attached to the reel to guide the cut crops, has the guide or conducting device constructed such that it extends the whole width of one reel (1) and connects of a pair of guide spirals in the region of the periphery of the reel (1). The guide spirals are so attached to the reel (1) that the spiral originating at one end of the reel (1) leads to the reel mid point in an opposite rotational sense to the spiral leading inwards from the other end.
