Papermaking sieve with mixed weft of synthetic yarn - with loom changing feeders automatically without stopping when spools are empty

The weft in a mixed weft papermaking machine sieve, consists of different matls., some picks being of a synthetic matl. having a high degree of stability of form and low absorption of humidity, whilst other picks are of a synthetic matl. with an esp. high resistance to abrasion. The warp and weft threads are of polyester and the remainder of the picks are of polyamide; these latter having a dia. 4% larger than that of the polyester weft. The loom for the prodn. of the four twill fabric, draws weft from a fixed supply package by way of one or more yarn brakes, a thread guide and a feeder for the shuttle clamp. Two or more feeders for the shuttle clamp are arranged on both sides of the loom, at such an angle that the guide eyelets of the levers reach the same point at the end of their outward stroke, where the thread is taken over by the shuttle clamp. Ensures a 30% longer life for the sieves. Has superior dewatering characteristics and produces paper of higher quality.
