A phase locked system for the interpolation of co-ordinate data for a numerically controlled machine tool system provides full synchronisation of control pulses. The interpolator consists of a pulse generator coupled to a filter-multiplier supplied with velocity data from store. The output frequency is therefore proportional to feed velocity and is passed over a selector controlled by a synchronising circuit to frequency reducing stages with the ratio 1:5, 1:6 and 1:7. A phase lock regulator receives the pulses and is coupled to interpolators for each co-ordinate axis, that provide multiplication by factors read in OR and AND gates generate outputs to the control circuit to close the loop.
