The support element is designed for use under floor slabs being laid at an interval on top of a concrete base and serves to preserve the required space between base and flooring. Each such element (1) consists of a plastic cup filled with a mass of concrete, pref. cement concrete with a plastic additive. One or more underlay plates may be interposed between support elements and floor slabs (3). The elements may be joined to the concrete base by means of an adhesive. The cup, which is beaker-shaped, may be cut for height and bearing-surface slope, on site, and additional support elements may be provided, according to the load bearing capacity required. The double floor is esp. suitable for industrial premises, where oil, grease, acid or water may be spilled.
