A bag filter, esp. for filtration of dust from flue gases, having a large no. of tubular fabric filters, each of which is attached at its top end to a suspension and tensioning rod which is accessible from outside the filter plant. The bags are each connected at their lower ends to an inlet in a filter floor. The suspension rods are in the form of tubes and are provided with =1 device by means of which defective filter bags can be located and/or sealed off during operation.
