Biological treatment of domestic/industrial wastes - with adjustable suction below concn zone and recycled sludge splash plates

In a biological treatment plant for industrial wastes with (in)organic contaminantes the suction pipe on the activated sludge basin has two openings, with the larger one located below the concn zone. The principal extn. takes place in the lower third of the concn. zone by horizontal pipes. In this addn., the extn. below the zone of the greatest activated sludge concn. is ensured by making the suction pipe adjustable in height. The activated sludge is recycled into the activation basin by suction pipes extended above the water level. This makes the plant more suitable for industrial waste with a high content of inorganic contamination. The microbes contained in the recycled sludge are now activated more intensively.
