Horizontal continuous mixer for powders and semi-fluid materials - with discs mounted on shaft in horizontal cylindrical housing

A continuous mixer for powdered or semi-fluid materials having a cylindrical housing with mixing elements attached to a co-axial driven shaft lies in an approx. horizontal plane, and the mixing elements are in the form of elliptical discs attached tot he shaft at an angle of 30-60 degrees to the radial direction of the shaft and therefore of the housing. The edges of the elements follow the inner wall of he housing and the elements divide the housing into compartments. Each element has at least one cut-3ut in its periphery. The mixer can be made up from a small number of similar parts in such a way that its characteristics can be easily varied to suit different materials. The mixer can be simulated by a small model to determine the optimum arrangement for different materials to be mixed.
