The end decorative bar, for a window or door, consists of a tubular shaped-section post and two retainers for fixing this to the window or door frame. These retainers (6, 7) for fitting to both ends of the post (4) are made in the form of a bracket, and have a cutout (9) on the surface (8) facing the post, fitting its external cross-sectional shape. The interval between them is such as to allow them to exert a resilient embracing grip on the ends of the post which lock into the cutouts. The retainers are made of a material with a low degree of elasticity. The base of the cutouts may be inclined towards the post, an end face of which is inclined at the same angle, and the post may be grooved for insertion of rails bearing ornamental elements.
