The pressure cooker, for the simultaneous cooking of different foods, comprises several pressure-tight vessels which are in the form of annular sectors which together make up an annular pan unit (4) mounted suspended from the lid (2). This annular pan unit (4) can be fastened to the lid (2) by means of a retaining nut (6) on the top of the lid and is screwed onto a thread located at the top of a guide tube (7) which projects through an opening in the lid and forms the inner wall of the annular pan unit (4). The shut-off valve systems (9, 10, 13) by means of which each individual pan sector can be exposed or shut off from the steam pressure is preferably mounted on the base of the annular pan unit (4) and has steam apertures (9) which are associated with each annular sector and can be opened in succession by a rotatable valve plate.
