The portable model display kit consists of a baseplate (15), two side walls (16, 17) and an adjustable third wall (18), all held together by forces of magnetic attraction. Cut-out portions are provided against which the side walls are supported. The base and walls are preferably formed of permanent magnetic material and are covered with an iron-bearing paper. Model components (3a, b, c, d, e) of magnetic material may be placed in the spaces in adjustable position to illustrate the layout of a room (as, for example, a kitchen). The compartments are typically equipped with a cover plate top provided with a carrying handle or with clips for wall mounting. Models are one-tenth or one-twentieth full scale.
