The heat recovery arrangement is a heat exchanger for utilising the thermal content of waste air from a building for heating fresh air. The arrangement has a number of wavy heat exchange plates which form a counterflow system. These wavy plates are arranged side by side within a channel. The edges of the plates are held on channel walls and slots are provided in the inlet and outlet regions. The heat exchanger plates (1) have a basic wave (2a) with an amplitude less than half the gap width between adjacent heat exchanger plates. The plates can be parallel with waves of small amplitude and sawtooth shape with marked step and shallow trailing slope. In each case a straight flow path section is provided between the plates.
