Structural connecting-cable wires in plastic bedding anchorage - with malleable layer between cables and clamp surfaces for isostatic pressure transfer

The connecting cables, as used for carrying suspended roofs, or as tension members for suspension bridges, etc., comprises parallel wires, embedded in a plastic unit, with an abutment and one or more clamp jaws or clamping bodies fitting against a counter surface on the latter. A pliable intermediate layer is interposed between each cable cluster and its alloted clamping surface, by means of which the clamping pressure is transmitted to the unit isostatically. The intermediate layer may be made of soft aluminium or plastic, or may be in the form of fibreglass or otherwise reinforced plastic coating on the end of the cluster which is to be anchored. Compensation is provided for unevennesses between cable cluster and clamping surfaces.
