The windscreen wiper/washer system is driven by a single electric motor (10) which drives the reciprocating wiper linkage (19). One end of the reciprocating drive rod powers a diaphragm air pump (31) via a flexible thrust link (33). The air pump pressureises the washer fluid container (29) via a non return valve (35). The washer jets are coupled to the pressurised water supply by a control valve (27). The system is simple to operate and install and ensures an efficient washing action.
