Slip foils enabling adjacent building components to be positioned in non-locking (non-jamming) manner, are usually used in pairs. They feature carrier foils between which there is interposed a very thin dry plastics film that is lubricated on one or both sides. Simple construction and mfr. Slip characteristics are of outstanding quality and remain always constant. The carrier foils are made of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, a polyamide, polyoxymethylene or a polyester. The intermediate foil is made of virgin PTFE (opt. contg. a filler e.g. graphite, glass, asbestos Zn, Cd, Pb, their oxides or silica). The slip foil may be laminated with polystyrene, EPDM or a polychloroprene-based elastomer.
