Square format straw bales are loaded on a belt table (3), then pushed on to a spiked (6a) driving chain (6) driven by a motor (9) and drive (10). A top chain (16) also driven (11), is spring (17) loaded, applying a downwards grip on bales of varying height. The bales are push fed along a guide duct (4a) of longitudinal rails arranged as a containing square. Duct sections are straight or curved and connect to build a desired route. Sliding rails in the duct underside rope operate to open vertical discharge points along horizontal runs. The loading table (3) folds compact when not in use.
