A process for stabilising polyolefins is characterised by the addition of aromatic stabilisers which have been modified by the introduction of a long chain alkane into the aromatic molecule before the addition. The stabilisers have better compatibility with the polyolefins due to the alkane chain and do not sweat out. The stabilisers are current stabilisers protecting the polyolefin against the effects of electric discharges. The compsns. may be used for high voltage insulation.
