The stereophonic control consists of a combination of headphones and microphones, with the latter mounted in, or immediately on, the case of sound reproduction transducers. A model of a human external ear is reproduced in a soft plastic on the outer side of each transducer case, and the recording microphone is placed in its centre, or a sound channel is provided in the artificial ear centre, with the microphone at its outlet; or the transducer case is in the form of a plug inserted directly into the ear, with the microphone on its outer side.
