The hair dryer which includes a hot-air blower leading to a brush head is provided with a cylindrical cage of heat-conductive material which encloses the brush head so that the bristles pass through the cage to protrude on the outer surface. Warm or hot air is fed into the cage from the hot air blower mechanism which is preferably housed in the hollow body forming the handle for the dryer. The hollow handle is thereby provided with a cylindrical nozzle which is extended to house the brushes and cage. The hot air is thereby directed solely onto the hair wound round the cage and held by the brush so that no heat is lost and the hair is set more quickly in shape.
