The pivot point is restrained by levers (7, 8) which are attached to the frame of the polisher in such a way that the polishing stone is only free to oscillate to and fro in a plane which passes through the centreline of the outer track of a ball race. The pivot point of the polishing stone is attached to a cylindrical part which can pivot in the end of a lever (1). The other end of this lever is mounted on a shaft, the centreline of which can carry out a rotating translating movement over the surface of a cone. The tip of this cone lies on the centre of the radius of the surface being polished. The lever in which the cylinder with polishing stone is mounted carries a pressure arm which keeps the stone in contact with the surface being polished.
