The fault indicating monitor can be used in a large plant involving numerous test points. The fault signals are sent to a continuously operating counter (14) which have a predetermined potential. The counter has 25 positions, each corresponds to a sensor (ie. S1 checks if the pump operates, S2 checks if predetermined vacuum has been reached etc.). A comparator (19) strips the counter for a few seconds when a fault has been detected (ie. the sensor potential and the ref. potential are the same). This is also indicated by a suitably marked lamp. The counter operates very rapidly and cannot be followed by the human eye.
