The seed kernels and inner seed capsules of paprika are sepd. from the pds as they fall through the machine hopper, are gripped by the surfaces of two rotating cylinders and pressed against a knife arranged centrally to the cylinders and lying parallel to their axes. The pod is cut into two, and the pieces fall on to a vibrating chute so that the two outer halves are sepd. from the kernels and the seed capsules. The machine is of simple construction and the paprika pods can be tipped into the machine hopper without care, for stripping.
