A method for positioning a drilling arm mounted on a rock drilling apparatus and apparatus for carrying out the method

Procedure for positioning a rack drill on a drilling arm by means of a turning or swinging movement of the drill or the drilling arm about two at axes at right angle to each other by which the required turning angle for the axes is set up on an indicator. Subsequently the actual turning angle positions are measured on the axis by a turning indicator which produces a visible indication of the difference between the required and the actual turning angles. Thereafter the drill and the drilling arm are swung about the axis until the required angle and the measured actual angle are equal. The difference in the turning angles is made visible by needle instruments.
