摘要
The protable flame photometer has a pressurised precombustion chamber to maintain a constant flame height under varying environmental conditions. The burner (10) has an air inlet (11) a sample gas inlet (12) and a fuel inlet (13). The flame is formed in a combustion chamber (14) enclosed by a cylindrical wall (26) around the burner. The flame is observed through an optical fibre light guide (15) extending through an outer wall (21b) and located opposite an aperture (15') in the combustion chamber wall. The fibre leads to a detector (41) which can carry out any desired analytical operation, such as the determination of manganese in a steel sample. A chimney takes away fumes from the flame and produces an updraught wall to protect operators from accidental contact. The housing is divided into two by a baseplate (43) with a number of apertures communicating with a lower chamber (22). A fan feeds air through the annular space (20) of the chimney the lower chamber (22) and the space (23) around the combustion chamber.
