Coke oven machine emergency drive - using independent power source for second propulsion gear drive when fire risk

A coke oven machine such as a coaol charging car, coke pusher or coke quenching car is fitted with an electricla motor drive and a wheel braking system. In addn, an emergency drive with an independent power supply cna be switched on; this disengages at the same time the normal coupling and lifts the wheel brake. This moves the machine rapidly out of a zone of fire danger and allows the operator to escape after he has operated the emergency switch.
