The harvesting machine for working crops comprises a rotary hollow spindle (4) with a toothed clutch coupling (11) to a short hollow trumpet-ended shaft (8) with a coaxial compression spring retained by a central transverse bolt (7). The spring has an extended straight portion at either end forming a two pronged fork which rotates with the arm and maintains a resilient pressure which may be connected by manual adjustment. Attachment of the forked tubular section is maintained by a spring loaded clamping lever (5) which rests against the support arm when the forked member is clamped.
