Degreasing station for metallic workpieces in the form of a band which passes into a solvent enclosure which has an inlet and outlet slot; a solvent heating means which partially vaporises the solvent; appts. inside the enclosure for cooling the inlet and outlet zones; and appts. outside the enclosure for condensing vapour coming from the inlet and outlet slots. The slots are vertical and are formed in two facing lateral walls of the enclosure and have vertical means for guiding the band at a constant horizontal level.
