In a carding enging layout with drawn rollers feeding the fleece in the form of a triangle to the ribbon funnel and calender roller, any fibre falling from the fleece is pieced back into the web without hold-up, by a device consisting of two conveyor belts arranged parallel to the draw rollers and just below the fleece, the polished surfaces of the belts moving from a posn outside the edges of the fleece towards its centre line.
