Repairing refractory linings - of coke oven doors whilst still hot

The hot door is removed on a roller deck or by means of a loading crane and while suspended there form, subjected first to a sandbalst treatment to remove the slag layer on the surface of the refractory lining, and a cement/sand/water refractory mixture deposited froma cement gun on the refractory lining until a new compact, homogeneous and uniform surface is obtained. The door is then put back into position while still hot by means of the loading crane.
