Tow comprising multiple parallel filaments is encased in one wrapper yarn spiralled about it under low tension, and another wrapper yarn is then spiralled under low tension over the first yarn and in a direction of opposite hand. Specif., the wrapper yarns have the same composition and denier as the continuous or discontinuous tow filaments, and 2 wrapper yarns can be used, the wrapped tow either being boxed by layering, or fed to a machine for cutting it to flock lengths. Specif., the tow is fed through the bores of packages of wrapper yarn.
