Water-decomposable optical brightener contg tablets - for use in combination with textile detergents and contg. brightener, potato starch, fatty acid soaps and separating agents

Tablet suitable for use with textile detergents contains, by wt., 1-40% of = one optical brightener, 59.5-95% natural potato starch, 0.2-1.5% Mg- and/or Ca soap of satd. 16-20C fatty acids, esp. Mg stearate, 0.3-3% of = one finely divided inorg. or mineral sepg. agent and opt. 3 (0.1-2) % of a surface active wetting agent and opt. dyes or pigments and opt. bitter substances to avoid confusion with medicines. Tables are stable yet decompose in cold water in 15-30 secs. Pref. tablets have a dia. of 10-30mm, and are 2-20mm thick, and may be sealed in metal and/or plastic foil. Pref. sepg. agents are oxide of Si, Al or Mg, silicates, aluminosilicates, phosphates and carbonates of Ca and Mg.
