The outer frame of the window is hinged on a horizontal axis. Outside the window is placed the shutter whose frame (22) is made of pressed U-shaped sections in which are fixed slats. The shutter frame is hinged about on axis close to the top of the window frame, and is connected on each side to one end of a wind brace which is connected at its other end to window mounting frame. Pressure on handle (16) opens the window which, as it rotates, lifts the shutter away so taht full rotation is accomplished.
