A submarine reservoir for liquids can be deposited on the seabed at a speed reconcilable with its design characteristics, by means of compensating ballast weights and a recoverable buoyancy vessel released by an explosive coupling. The reservoir is maintained at equal pressure whatever the depth reached, and its stability on the bottom is ensured by the replacement once for all time, of part of the hydrocarbons stored, by seawater; the water reservoir acting as a ballast tank during immersion and serving as an oil separating vessel to clarify the water each time the reservoir is refilled. Fills the need for a submersible reservoir for depths of 100 metres and more. Easily transported, pressure automatically balanced during descent.
