Automatic winding and clamping of dynamo windings - with winding machine with an automated tool for leading the windings through the correct commutator clamp slots

The device is for winding and clamping dynamo armature windings automatically and guiding them tightly through the correct commutator clamping slots. The system is more rapid and therefore cheaper than the traditional method of guiding and clamping the armature windings. The winding machine guides the two wires from spools by a complex mechanism through the armature slots. At the end of each slot each wire is guided into the appropriate commutator clamp slot, along the commutator, round the shaft of the dynamo, back along the commutator and into the next armature slot. This is achieved by a cup shaped mechanism with two longitudinal slots and shaped guides which fit over the commutator. The wire is passed through the slits in this device and guided along the correct path by separated clockwise and counter clockwise movements of the arrangement.
