Long life shaft bearing seal - has O-rings and springs allowing axial shaft movement for greasing

Axial shaft displacement allows a short period during which the shaft seals are lubricated from the built in oil or grease reservoir. The shaft passes through the housing in which are mounted bushes lubricated from a reservoir. A counterbore in the bearing face contains an O seal under axial load from a spring via a washer. The aperture in the bearing face is closed by another washer retained by a spring bearing on an end stop on the shaft. A similar arrangement at the other bearing face keeps all springs preloaded and allows end float in the shaft. Life of the seal is given as 10-12 years with idle periods of several months. The bearing will support a pressure difference of several bars.
