The heavy fuel oil storage tank (1) is divided off into compartments. The end compartment (3) is sealed off from the remainder by a partition (4) and contains domestic fuel oil used for starting the plant. A hot water shortage cylinder (11) is located in the other part of the tank. The tank contains a coil supplied with water from the boiler. The control valve (18) maintains the desired temperature in the storage tank. Fuel oil is supplied to the boiler by the feed and return pipes (5, 10 and 6, 9). The hot water supply leaves the tank at (19) and the water supply is fed at (21). A baffle (12) around the hot water tank, separates the heated amount of fuel oil.
